Itinerary

 

Day 1

Arrival in Faro, private transfer with driver to the Hotel in Ferragudo

 

 

Day 2

We will visit the historic village of Silves with the Silves Cathedral and the Archaeological Museum of Silves. We then drive to Monchique, wich is a village with very small streets and mountains with beautiful views over the Algarve and the thermal spa of Caldas de Monchique, full of history and a great natural beauty with springs of thermal spring water. After a few stops and a lunch we go to Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve at 902 meters. On the way back to Lagos we will visit a winery where you have a wine tasting.

 

 

Day 3

Today we visit several local companies where they make typical Portuguese products, which we can also taste such as in Monchique, the Medronho honey, near Albufeira. And a pottery in Porches and certainly also fun is making your own Pastel de Nata. In between we have a nice lunch and we also see the large salt storage in Castro Marim. We then visit an organic farm. So you are on the road for a whole day, but you will learn something about the typical Algarve.

 

 

Day 4

Driving to the west coast, comfortable in our air-conditioned mini-van, in Aljezur we will visit the pretty castle and then go to the fantastic beaches of Monte Clérigoen and Amoreira where the river meets the sea. We make small stops to take beautiful pictures and have a pastry with coffee. Then to drive to Arrifana, Carrapateira, an area with a beautiful beach and breathtaking cliffs with intact nature and breathtaking views! Then we drive to Sagres to see the much acclaimed fortress, visit the church, the sundial and the fantastic cliffs over 100 meters high. We end the day in the Cape of St. Vincent with a great view over the ocean.

 

 

Day 5

Algarve Jeep Safari, it is a voyage of discovery through the deepest of the Algarve on off-road paths, through refreshing streams and old villages where time has stood still.

The most amazing landscapes, regional architecture and gastronomic tastings of the Algarve. A gourmet tasting is part of this tour, such as typical honey or natural jams, as well as a visit to an old distillery to try one of the most famous Portuguese liqueurs known as 'Medronho'.

 

 

Day 6

After visiting an olive factory in Moncarapacho, we drive to the southernmost point of the Algarve, where we will visit different places with beautiful beaches and views and to get to know the real Portuguese cuisine. We visit four Portuguese restaurants to taste typical traditional dishes with a few drinks and in Tavira a nice fado show. We end the trip with a visit to Porches, where we will enjoy delicious wines.

 

 

Day 7

Walking you will get to know the historic center of Portimão, the largest city of the Algarve with the most important buildings such as the Igreja Matriz or the Igreja do Colégio, in between we will enjoy delicious delicacies from the Algarve and a drink.

In the afternoon, cruise the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and set sail for one of the most incredible places in the area. The famous caves of Benagil, with breathtaking rock formations that we can admire up close and the unique landscape. Next, we will head to the Ría de Alvor Nature Reserve with the incredible variety of wildlife such as pink flamingos and many other native birds. Moreover, we get to see the beautiful beach of Praia de Alvor.

 

 

Day 8

Unfortunately, already the last day, hotel check-out and transfer to Faro airport.
